The Opportunity:

Immediate-start opportunity for a Management Accountant looking for a diverse range of work within a global leader in Industrial Services.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you will provide end-of-month financial processing, reporting, and commercial decision support for operational sites across Queensland. This role suits a hands-on analyst who excels at finance partnering with non-financial stakeholders, driving reporting efficiencies, and taking ownership of key month-end duties.

Your Impact:

  • Month-End Execution (EOM): Execute key month-end financial processes, including accruals, manual journals, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure strict compliance with corporate reporting schedules.
  • Stakeholder Partnering: Act as a key finance partner to Operations, Sales, and Corporate teams, providing analytical insight into business trends, operational metrics, and commercial challenges.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Deliver month-end management reporting and detailed P&L commentary to meet local and corporate deadlines.
  • Planning & Forecasting: Assist with annual budgets and regular reforecasting, analyzing performance variances against targets.
  • Systems & Dashboards: Contribute to the development and maintenance of performance dashboards, reporting systems, and KPI tracking tools.
  • Commercial Support & Modeling: Provide financial modeling for commercial initiatives, operational strategies, and customer tenders.
  • Financial Control & Process: Perform core operational finance tasks including balance sheet integrity, ad-hoc invoicing, and continuous process improvements across the function.

About You:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a commercial, operations-facing finance role with proven hands-on month-end closing experience.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel capabilities (bottom-up financial modeling and advanced referencing formulas). Experience with large ERP systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, Dynamics 365) and BI tools (Power BI, TM1, Planning Analytics, or Hyperion) is required.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, paired with CA or CPA qualification (or actively pursuing).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with an ability to translate financial data for operational leaders, alongside sharp attention to detail and strong time management to hit month-end deadlines.
